I work from a person-centred approach, which means you are at the heart of the process.
Rather than following a set agenda or telling you what you should be thinking or feeling, our sessions are guided by you.
You decide what you want to explore, how much you want to share and what feels important to you.
There’s no pressure to talk about something before you’re ready.
Anxiety or overwhelm
Low mood
Stress or pressure
Relationship issues
Life changes or uncertainty
Confidence and self esteem
Grief and bereavement
These are some areas you may come to counselling for, but no matter what it is, if it matters to you, it matters here.
There is no right answer for this.
We’ll take things at your pace. Some sessions might involve talking through something that has happened. Others might be about understanding a feeling, noticing a pattern or simply having somewhere to put everything that has been going around in your head.
The sessions are yours.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling, and see how it feels for us to work together.
We’ll also spend a little time going through our counselling agreement together. This covers things like confidentiality, boundaries, cancellations, how sessions work and what you can expect from me - as well as what I need from you.
I’ll make sure you have the opportunity to ask questions or raise anything you’re unsure about. This is about making sure we both feel clear, comfortable and safe about how we’ll work together.
If you think counselling might be right for you, or you're curious about it, I'd love to hear from you.
