Yes! Online counselling can be just as effective as face to face, it's all down to what you would prefer and what works best for you. Online sessions can be delivered through Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or via phone call.
Each session costs £45, or £250 if you choose to book in blocks of 6. This is to help cover the costs of providing a private, professional, and, most importantly, safe space for your counselling.
This includes the room, professional supervision, insurance, and ongoing training and development.
Payment is required in advance to each session.
Cancellations more than 24 hours before your appointment won’t be charged.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment, or missed appointments, will be charged at the full session rate.
This is because your appointment time is reserved specifically for you and cannot usually be offered to someone else at short notice.
I am more than happy to discuss genuine emergencies or unexpected illnesses, at the time, please just get in touch with me as soon as you can.
That's completely okay.
Your first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether I’m the right counsellor for you. There’s no expectation that you have to book another session simply because we’ve already met.
If you decide you’d like to continue, we can arrange your sessions on an individual basis or in a block of six. If you decide counselling - or simply working with me - isn’t right for you, there’s no awkwardness and no pressure to continue.
You’re allowed to change your mind.
While counselling is generally a 1:1 space, if you do feel like you would like to have someone in the room with you for a particular reason, please let me know and we can talk about what feels appropriate.
Therapy is generally more effective when you have the space to yourself, but this is absolutely something we can discuss.
Each session is 50 minutes in length. They are usually offered as a minimum of 6 sessions, with sessions taking place once per week.
So that we have time to explore what has brought you to counselling, and figure out what pace works for you, I would recommend a minimum of 6 sessions - however, this is not essential and we can always adjust to what you feel is right.
If you get to 6 sessions, and would like to continue, you are welcome to continue using the space. Sessions can progress for as long as you feel it is helpful, or you are ready to finish.
